What the Quack?

This duck thinks our pool is her own peronal pond. The first time I spotted ducks in the pool a few years ago I had visions of the story Make Way For Ducklings. How adorable to have our own ducks swimming in our backyard. We watched with adoration until we noticed the mess they left in the pool and on the deck. Now what...

Our pool guy was familiar with this dilemma and suggested we put balls in our pool to scare the ducks away. I guess they think they are people. I suppose this is where the phrase "bird brain" comes from. Well it works. These ducks return each spring and so do these balls. Some of the duck mess.

Bye bye birdy.

Very clever how you said, "bird brain" and, "bye bye birdy."

That is very interesting that they think balls are people.

From where I sit, the ducks are adorable!! (but I don't have to clean up after them!)

Bird Brain. I am going to say that today. Somehow I will find a way to use it.

It's better than rats. Haven't you had them before?

Please tell me someone in your house has a shotgun.

Really? Balls? That is interesting! I guess that is easier and more humane than a bee bee gun. Although playing 'Duck Hunt' for real might be fun ;)

While the ducks are cute to look at, the mess is another story! Glad the ball solution is working.

Silly birds! Pools are for humans!

We know some people in Fresno who actually put out food for the birds that swim in their pool. WEIRDOS!

I am going out to purchase a billion balls for our big neighborhood ponds that are overrun with geese.

I hate geese. Ducks are cute, geese are mean.

Can you blame him though? It's a lovely pool.

I have a bad habit of reading blog posts from most recent to oldest. Just read your other ones. So sorry about your horrible experience with the rookie paramedic! Yikes. Of course he had to kick you in the bad knee. That's awful. The shoes though were fantastic.

I've got bird problems do,mine keep laying eggs in my flower baskets. It was cute the first time, but not the 4th time. And even cuter if they weren't trash mourning dove birds

I hope you are feeling better and that your body repairs itself soon. I keep wondering what it is that makes you keep fainting? Do the Dr. have any diagnosis? Health concerns can be so overwhelming and frustrating. But I see your fashion and humor are still intact which is important, especially during times when you aren't feeling well. Here to wishing you good health.
