The Orange and Palm Trees Sway

This one is for you Mom. We are spoiled. My family is braving the Nordic Tundra and the Alpine Blast and we complain because it's below 60. When my Mom was here visiting she would make fresh orange juice from our tree and sit outside and drink it. These are my first ripe lemons. When life gives you lemons...make lemonade!!

Time for a Change

Before...

Somewhere between 1989-1992 I recovered these chairs. This part of my life is a blur (my kids were babies). It was during my pink period. I love these chairs. They were Tom's Grandma's hostess chairs at the head of her dining table. I'm sentimental, I love pieces with a story. In my old house they were in my living room, they have a new life in my dining room. Currently they are being reinvented again. New upholstery! So this is the before...can't wait for the after!!

Physical Terrorists

You know you've been in Physical Therapy too long when...

1. All your peeps are 80

2. You wonder where they got the orthopedic sandals and do they come in metallic?

3. Your peeps ask you if you have named your walker

4. Your sister says "Don't you dare!"

5. You are on a first name basis with all the therapists and office staff

6. The aids whistle your theme song when you come in-Shaft

7. You know you walk like a gangsta

8. You think maybe it's cool to have a gangsta strut

9. You bling out your cane

10. It is like a part-time job!

It's been a long 6+ months but I can walk and I couldn't have done it without them! I love to hate them.

I Feel Lucky!

Did you know they have Lucky jeans at Steinmart? They are less than half the price of Nordstrom. I found these cute sassy shoes at Old Navy for 10$. Seriously, I love a deal!

Back To the Ball

I had to share this picture with my friend Laura, mother of 3.She is wearing my 15 year old daughter's dress. Whatever!! Thou shalt not covet.

101 Donations

I'm a pretty shallow girl, but there is a deep end in my personality pool. I'm working on a humanitarian project and the 2008 goal is to collect 101 Donations of crib blankets for babies in need. April 21, 2007 Elder Bednar was speaking at the Virginia Tech Institute shortly after the tragedy. He said " If you strive to become instruments in the hands of the Lord to heal others, then you yourselves will be healed." Last year was pretty rough physically and emotionally. If I can help one mother who needs a blanket to wrap her child in then, perhaps the Lord will wrap me a little tighter in His arms. I'm domestically challenged and even I can tie a quilt! No excuses! Join me for our monthly quilting parties. Now, let's get back to the fluff!!

Nail Biter

I found cool new nail polish at the pharmacy. It is in this pen and it is easy to use. The black kind of goes on like a sharpie but the clear opal had better coverage...maybe cause it's clear! They dry really fast and it's a good way to try a new color. I had a manicure with a dark chocolate brown which I'm loving. I cut my nails short so I wouldn't look like Cruella.

My Life is a Ball

Move over Cinderella. Tonight was our annual black tie event. I'm excited because I found a dress with sleeves and it doesn't look like the mother or grandmother of the bride. I learned that it is important to use extra adhesive on false eyelashes. Mine started to come loose so I removed them so as not to lose one in my salad. Black nail polish is cool! If Diane Keaton can wear it then so can I. My fairy god mother never showed up and I lost my glass slipper but it was fun while it lasted.
