What She Wore Wednesday

One reason I  started blogging again is because Brynn missed my little bits of nothing. When I talk to her my first question is almost always, "What did you wear today?" Having a daughter is like having a little doll you can dress. Since she now lives far away I miss seeing her outfit choices. I love putting together outfits for her and shopping with her. She has long legs and a willowy 19 year old frame so everything looks good on her. Brynn and her cousin Hanna were together last weekend and sent me this picture. Brynn has on a chambray shirtdress with a great cream belt. Hanna is wearing an eggplant tee with a lace yoke and an oatmeal cardigan. This makes me very happy. These cute girls are beautiful inside and out. They are strong and smart and independent. It doesn't hurt that they know how to put together a fabulous outfit either.

Wedding Wednesday

Jordan wore this exact same tux, vest and tie combo when he and Maddie went to prom. That's right, he married his high school sweet heart.
Maddie is a doll. We have known her for about 12 years. Her mom and I secretly plotted ths wedding long ago. She was Brynn's friend before she was Jordan's friend.
They share a love of baseball. I don't think Jordan realizes how lucky he is.
 They make a great team.

Thanks to Tara at AlaMode Photography for capturing the twinkle in Jordan's eye.

Year in Review

It's been a year since I posted. So much has happened. I will give a quick review.

October 2010  I went to Kansas to visit Evan and Jenni. A highlight was going to school with Evan and watching him teach math. Teaching 6th graders in the hood is not easy.

November 2010 Spent Thanksgiving in Utah with our college kids. Froze my b00ty.

December 2010 We had all of our kids home for Christmas for the first time in far too long.

January 2011 Mourned my kids going back to Kansas and college.

February 2011 Called Jenni for frequent pregnancy updates. Awaited the birth of our first grandchild.

March 2011 Count down to grand baby.

April 2011 Trip to Puerto Rico. Followed by flood which required moving to a hotel for 2 months. Remodel which got me many upgrades.

May 2011 Baby boy is born! Loving my new status as Grandma. Trip to Kansas to hug on baby.

June 2011 Grand baby (and his parents) move back to Grandmaland. Loved the 10 pm - 2 am shift bonding with sweet baby boy.

July 2011 Baby blessing, funeral and wedding plans. My brother-in-law unexpectedly passed away. Joy and sadness and more joy as we made plans for Jordan's wedding.

August 2011 Trip to Denver.  Jordan and Maddie are married! Two down, one to go.

September 2011 Trip to Utah. I turned the big 5 Oh! Spent time in a spa fog trying to absorb the enormity of it all.

So there we have it. Our family has grown. I am a 50 year old grandma and life is grand.
