Missionary Monday

Elder Jordan picked a peck of perfect peaches. There was a most exciting development in the missionary mom saga this past week.

I may or may not have been stalking another Boise missionary's blog. Imagine my surprise when this picture popped up. You see, I knew Jordan's companion's last name and I only knew the blog boy's first name. I would check the blog from time to time hoping to see a picture of Jordan in this guy's zone or something. Of course I left a comment. I was afraid I would freak this poor mom out. Luckily, she understands my obsession and now I have a new mission mom friend. We can piece together details from our boy's sketchy correspondence. It's been a very good week.

23?

Evan is 23 today. We got to celebrate with him over the weekend.I'm not sure how this happened. Our child is a married man.
I may be 47 on the outside but I still feel 23 on the inside.

Jenni made him a lovely cake.
Evan's got a lot of hot air.

The Angels are here

The Newlyweds are here for a visit. Evan's team, the Owlz is the minor league team of the Angels.
Evan loves his internship. He was in heaven attending a game with Jenni and Tom.
The Angels and the Newlyweds are both winning teams.

Shoesday

I accosted a woman at the grocery store that was wearing these shoes in green. She was one of those cool, thirty somethings who looked like she frequents a yoga class. She told me where she got her shoes and the good news for me is that I found them on sale. These are ultra comfy with good arch support yet they still have the style of a ballet flat.
They made great little travel companions too. Slip-ons are essential for air travel.
You could actually walk around all day in these babies...well you could, I'll take my chair.
Handicap does have it's advantages. You gotta love the parking pass too.

Missionary Monday

"Linda Jordan's baptism was awesome. Brother Jordan's brother in law came and picked us up in Caldwell. There were tons of people at the baptism. Lots of little kids. Brother Jordan received the Melchizedek priesthood at the beginning of the meeting. Then he baptized his wife Linda. After that, he blessed their baby. When he was giving the blessing he talked about his son going on a mission and that hit me really hard. Some day their baby will be able to go on a mission and help other families come unto Christ. So it was a great meeting and the Spirit was strong. They also had a barbeque at their house before the baptism and that was good too."
This boy knows how to make his Mom cry. Top off a spiritual experience with BBQ and it doesn't get any better.

Beauty Pageant

The Miss Universe Pageant will be at the Atlantis on August 23rd. All the contestants were there for preliminary events. I'm slightly obsessed. We will be watching, talking smack about the contestants and hoping someone will fall. I always cheer for the girls with the short and flat hair. This year we will say, "I saw her. She waved at me. We were there." It's gonna be good.

Don't be surprised when I win.

Bikini
I think there should be an age and weight limit. No pictures because I don't want to hurt your eyes.

Bored

I promise I'll stop at the letter C mmkay.

Shoesday

These are what I wore poolside on the big vacay. Sling-back flip-flops, because I haven't quite mastered the regular flip-flops yet.
Lounging beside the pool is my forte.

Missionary Monday

Elder Jordan's blog mafia Godmother Ilene has been at it again. This time she went out to Caldwell.
So I'm thinking that what Jordan described as a barn is in reality a quaint farmhouse. It is probably hot up there in his room. I suggested he buy a fan. Once again. Ilene has proved her stealth photography skills. Maybe some day she will actually meet him face to face. I know Jordan appreciates the cookies.

Shoesday

This pair of pink pretties was bought to replace... an old favorite pair. I was hoping to wear them this summer.

The 2 1/2 inch heels and lack of an ankle strap proved too daunting.
Maybe next year.

Missionary Monday

Elder Jordan had a farm... "We live on a farm. In a 3 story barn. We live on the top floor and it's 1000 degrees up there. I sweat myself to sleep everynight with just one sheet on my bed. It's insane. They have 3 dogs, a cat, roosters, chickens, a horse, and a tree swing. the last one isn't an animal , just thought i'd throw it in there. And a big turkey!"
