Fashion Friday

Passport Style It was time to renew my passport as we will be heading to the Bahamas this summer.
Of course I obsessed about what to wear.
I mean, I will have this thing for another 10 years and I have had one too many ugly driver's license pictures so this time I wanted to be prepared.
Here is my blurry picture from 10 years ago.
I could not get a clear picture of this picture. There are all these wavy lines on the photo.
Apparently big brother doesn't want it to be posted on my blog but whatever, we are talking fashion here.As you can see I wore a white shirt and navy blazer. I've always liked my passport picture because I went with a classic look.
Here are the new photos. I opted for a white button down to keep it classic so I won't hate it in 10 years. No jewelry for the same reason. Notice how I have the same haircut as 1999. I guess I need to change it up but I always go back to some version of a bob. The back is much shorter now and I do have the red streak working for my trendy look. I just wish they would use a soft focus lens to erase 10 years of wrinkles from my face.
Maybe in 2019 I will wear a turtleneck to cover the impending neck sag.
Now I just need to get a new driver's license picture. That thing is seriously bad. I was wearing a chambray denim jumpsuit that had palazzo pants. Plus I had glasses.
It was before lasik, like 1992 or something. Bad I tell you.
Now if I could just get my driver's license back...

That is a great passport photo!! I can't really tell from the blurry pic 10 years ago, but it seems to me you are parting your hair on the other side now too.

You look fab. Imagine my horror when I took my BALD 9 month old first daughter to get her passport photo at Walgreens. Spent an hour on outfit and HUGE bow so she'd look like a girl in the passport she'd be stuck with for years. Only to find out when we got to the passport office they cannot have a bow. WHAAAT? So she is now stuck with a mug shot from the passport office taken by a large scary prison maiden type. Poor thing is also bug-eyed in the shots as a result as well. I safety clip the cute pic in when we travel. Makes me feel better. I think I'll draw one on with magic marker tatttoo style for Tiney's photo.

a denim jumpsuit with palazzo pants i absolutely must see! but as for the new pic- it's a goody. you look fab. but sometimes even when simplicity is on my side, other forces ruin what would have been a perfectly good picture. i had to change my driver's license when my hair was in the "awkward" stage. i would have rather been photographed bald. enough said...

You are so smart to go classic. I would have never thought of that.

Also, Bahamas? Color me jealous.

i love passports - especially when there is a trip coming up! Good thing about passports is you can just keep getting your picture taken until you like it, unlike the drivers license - maybe when you get yours back they will demand a new picture (i thought you had to get a new pic every 8 years?)

You look fabulous of course and so classically dressed:) My photo is about 6/7 years old and is so not classic:)

Way to keep it timeless.

the important question is...do you have a cute passport holder? Mine is pink leather and I am a little bit in love with it.

This is a very serious topic. My passport picture is now almost ten years old and I'm finally starting to like it compared to the real me. I want to use someone else's photo for my new one.

um, I think we need to see the blue denim jumper. I love the thought that goes into the passport picture.I never thought of it that way. Keep it classic, white shirt, I will remember that in 2015 when I need to renew mine. I don't think you could look bad even in a denim jumper
