Missionary Monday

The best thing I got for Christmas... was a conference call with these two boys.
Jordan sounded happy and self assured. He was actually talkative.
He is working hard and enjoying his mission.
Only five months until Mother's Day and the next phone call...

Wonderful!! I am so happy for you. Have you made a paper chain yet to do the countdown to Mother's Day?

I'll bet that was a happy day all the way around! There was a discussion about this in our ward. How long did you get to chat with him?

I know it was so good for you to hear his voice. And to think he actually talked!!! Way to go Jordy!

That must have been the best Christmas present ever!!!!!

To be clear, yes I was a very good girl this year, but no the little blue box was not for me....it was for the Mr. I got him the sweetest sterling silver cuff links for Christmas...wasn't I so nice and don't I deserve something that comes in a robin egg blue box too...I am waiting....He usually comes through for me. Good thing my birthday is in less then 3 months. I will have to make some hints to him.

I can't believe we missed the wedding. The pictures are beautiful. We got the update from Tom, sounds like you had some excitement leading up to the big day, glad everything worked out! Have fun in Utah!

do you remember calling home from your mission? talk about an emotional roller coaster... thrilled with anticipation all day, savoring every moment, hanging up and feeling despondent, feeling guilty that you miss your family so much... must mean you're not focused... trying to get that balance back...

all from one phone call.

I am sure he is having the time of his life, but I am also sure he is missing you guys! How great to be able to talk to him. I know when my brother's called from their missions they sounded so grown up and mature. It was really interesting to hear them speak.

I think missionaries should be able to call their mamas at least once a month-I'm just saying!

Missionary phone calls, I sure looked forward to Christmas and mother's day while I was serving.
Someday I'll be on the other end and I'm sure I'll look forward to it even more.

I just remembered that during the last few months of my mission, one of my brothers used to call my apartment phone and leave 'fake' messages from boys I had dated right before I left. Good times.

I'm dying to see pictures from the wedding. Especially, the grand reception in San Diego. I know you put a few out there but I need to see more!

Hooray for Christmas phone calls! I hope by the time Sam's on a mission they will change the rule to monthly, as queenie said :)

I bet that was a great present. Nothing better for a mom to talk to her kids.....

Wonderful. Jonathan was talkative too. I guess the mission changes them.
