Missionary Monday

Elder J was transferred to Jerome. He describes it best. "there's like a 7 to 1 cow to people ratio here, and it smells bad, like cows and dairy farms, but whatever. i guess we cover a town called hazelton. we get 1575 miles so it's the biggest area i've been in. and has the least amount of people. about 10,000 so that's 70,000 cows. Holy cow!"

Ahh, Jerome. He is not exaggerating about the smell. When I was 11 I went to the county fair in Jerome and won a big 4H trophy for the best speech on food poisoning.

We lived next to a cow pasture in Virginia. You always hear about the great outdoors smelling so fresh...not it that case.

I think that was his funniest letter to date.

Jerome does stink. You always hold your breath when you drive by that town on the freeway.

Jerome is known for it's dairy farm smell. From the freeway, you can see dairy cows feeding.
I have friends who lived there, though and they rave about the wonderfulness of the people who live there, so I think Elder Jordy is in for a treat.

Jerome is now #3 on my places NOT to visit. Thanks for the heads up.
