This is a portion of Elder J's email. This first story is for all you bloggers out there. We had stake conference on Sunday, and we got there early. This lady walked up to me in the hall. She said, "I'm a blogstocker", I knew what she was talking about. She said she's in one of the wards we cover, and that she has seen mom's blog. She said she saw a picture of me on Mom's blog, so that's how she knew who I was. It was pretty funny and kind of crazy. haha.
This is Robin's Mom he refers to. See last post. When I started blogging I never dreamed I would make friends who could check up on my boy for me. An unexpected blog benefit.
My missionary's Christmas has been sent. I love flat rate boxes. We may have gone a little overboard...

Wow, he is going to have a great Christmas!! It is SO fun that you have people who can check up on your boy for you...blogging is great!
You can never go overboard for your missionary! It looks like he is going to have a great Christmas and I can't wait to hear about the phone call!!!
Yay for blogging mafia! I need to check out those flat rate boxes!
I love that he knows the Mafia is alive and well and loves him!
don't worry...I don't think you can never send your missionary too much :)
i am dying on this blogging mafia thing. seriously. you have spies for life! it's fabulous!!
and frankly, i can't believe you're only sending four boxes. cheapskate.
It must be so fun to get to hear check up reports from people with Elder J sightings. Did he ever dream he'd be so famous?
I don't think you can ever go overboard--especially for a missionary on his first Christmas away. Go Mom! Make sure that phone is charged!
Overboard? NEVER. Missy dropped off a Jack in the Box gift card at the Mission home this weekend while she was in town. That boy is seriously being taken care of.
Looks like he's going to have a fun Christmas!
I am the Queen of Over-Doing It. You can be the Princess, or Co-Queen, or we can have a duel and duke it out. Either that or you can be the Queen of the South State and I, the North State.
ANYWAY...I envy and covet your missionary mom status. I would love it as you do!!
I think you need to send a couple of more packages. Did you remember fudge? Nerf footballs?? Water guns for p-days? Flannel sheets? You didn't send enough deodorant, shampoo or vitamins. He definitely needs more. This is the advantage of having a missionary in the States, you can spoil them better!!!
You really can't go overboard for a missionary. My mom sent my brother canned pumpkin, and boxed cake mixes while he was serving in France. He wanted his favorite Thanksgiving recipe, and couldn't find the ingredients. Keep up the spoiling. It will make him the favorite among his companions. :)
Wow. I had never thought about that benefit of blogging.I am definitely sticking to this through my boys' missions.
It's a small world after all!
I love the connections...
