Missionary Monday

Jordan said this is a picture of his backyard, the Snake River. Jordan and his companion Elder Boyes won the clean car award at zone conference. They got pens with orange ink because orange is President Yardley's favorite color. Apparently the mission President is famous for wearing orange ties. We are rather surprised by the award for cleanliness. Maybe this means he is cleaning his room...I'll try not to get my hopes up.

clean car awards? Pens with orange ink? what? Is he just loving it?

I've never seen the Snake River in person. I can't imagine living so close to it!

Too funny! Maybe clean car awards shouldn't just be for missionaries! I know quite a few people (no, not me I'm happy to say) who have had dirty diapers, food and other gross things left in their cars/vans!!!

Maybe his companion is a neat freak and is having a good effect on him? His mission pres must LOVE Halloween!

The cool thing about that picture is that I HAVE BEEN THERE. What he didn't tell you, probably because the orange pens were so exciting, is that the World Center for Birds of Prey is right up river. It draws celebrities and stuff. But mostly, there are lots of hawks, eagles and cool bird flying around there. It is cool.

I want that backyard, no lawn to mow, no weeds to pick...

My boy was somewhat of a neat freak on his mission due, in part, to his first, white glove, companion. I think they worry more about what the mission pres. will say than they ever worry about what mom says. He reverted back to his old, messy ways once he was home. Oh, well.

Very cool. How can a clean award not make a mother proud!

how funny is it that missions/college can change a person so much?! you'll never believe that jon got a job as a dishwasher at BYU, but would NEVER touch a dirty dish at home...

if it wasn't against mission rules, he could float down that snake river and come have supper at my house.

I don't think I've ever seen a pen with orange ink. Sounds like he's enjoying things in Idaho. Now I am hopeful that my boys will embrace the value of a clean room when I send them off on their missions...

I grew up with the Snake River in my backyard. It's beautiful - I hope Jordan enjoys his Ida-ho experience. And I love the clean car award - congrats to Jordan for earning it!
