What not to wear

What I wore when I went to the MTC...I won't wear it again.
Me and my sistas...the day of my farewell...fierce faces!

I openly admit that I am shallow. My latest obsession is ...what to wear to the MTC. When my brother died my first thought was what will I wear to the funeral? My sisters thought I was nuts. Maybe it's just a stress reliever or maybe I'm just overly concerned with things that shouldn't matter! Anyway, it is the last time my son will see me for two years. When Tom was called to be the Bishop I was very concerned about what to wear. I considered a short skirt or plunging neckline hoping that our Stake President would reconsider. Unfortunately, he knew me too well. When Evan reported to the MTC I had spikey hair and he begged me not to spike it that day. I complied. It's good when your kids are more conservative than you. Anyhow, back to the matter at hand...any ideas let me know.

I vote for the animal print flats-they are still my fav shoes! You look totally fierce! I think we were made from the same mold and I don't mean the green slimey stuff. Day to day, I don't really care what I wear but for special occasions, its the first thing I think about. If its considered a short-coming, well, I'd rather be a well dressed little person than an ugly giant!

I think you should wear a maternity dress and put a pillow in there. Wouldn't you look like the perfect Mormon mom?

I think when I first met Annemarie she was wearing that dress. It was when we were in the singles ward!!!

Aren't big life events and Church just another forum for a mini fashion show? I am with you on this, it's important to have a good outfit where there will be cameras, lots of family and friends. If it's going to be documented don't you want to be looking your best? So good luck on finding the right outfit. It looks like you have good fashion sense so I am sure you will look fabulous

Thanks for the glimpse into your past! I'm loving the little tie thing, too.

I think you're probably just a planner :) Once you settle the details, you feel better about going forward. Nothing wrong with going forward looking your best!

I love this post! You should be in our family. My mom is speaking at Women's Conf and it's ALL about the clothes.
