Thanksgiving Unwrapped

I spent Thanksgiving with a kidney infection and a heating pad.She spent Thanksgiving at Urgent Care.
Apparently, this is what happens after sleeping on the floor.

She was feeling better after a shot, muscle relaxants and pain pills.

We had a beautiful bird.Thankfully, these kids kept us smiling.

Untraditional

Thanksgiving 2007 was perfect. She came and cooked.

They were all home.

This will be our first Thanksgiving with the only child.

We will be spending Thanksgiving with Aunt Marie.

Why mess with perfection?

Missionary Monday

Serious missionary face. He's wearing the tie we sent him for Halloween.

Typical sweet, happy Jordan face.
He is very fascinated by the falling leaves.

Wonderfall

These were taken last month when I was in Utah.
I'm trying to pretend like it's fall.

The temperature was 90 degrees today.
I'm over it.

I want to wear long sleeves.

Here's How It All Went Down

The evening began like this. I was enjoying Brynn's Young Women Evening of Excellence.
It ended like this...

At least I was wearing my fierce sweater.
Just another tilt-a-whirl day.

Celebrity in the Family

Evan is famous.

What a surprise to open the Church News and see a picture of our boy.
He's the one standing behind the girl in red who is shaking President Monson's hand. You can read more about it here.

Fashion Friday

Purple is the color of the season. Not princess purple or lavender. Deep eggplant and aubergine.
Which is redundant because aubergine means eggplant in French.
Plus it contrasts nicely with my devil eyes.
I love the neckline detail on this sweater.

Add a splash of purple into your wardrobe with accessories.
A long necklace dresses up the Mom uniform of a t-shirt and jeans.

My daughter's bag is just cool.

Breast Friends

Yesterday I spent the day at the hospital waiting while my best friend had surgery to remove breast cancer. Three of four Ya-ya's have had breast lumps. One is a breast cancer survivor of 9 years, I had two lumps removed both were benign, and now our dear friend begins her battle.

Just a reminder to do your monthly breast self exams.

Friends are like bras...close to your heart and there for support.

Missing My Missionary Monday

Life upstairs is bittersweet. I had not seen Jordy's room since he graduated from High School.
He went away to college for a year and now he's on his mission.
Of course I cried. Lots of memories up here.
He decorated his room . When we moved in I let him pick his room color. When he said he wanted blue I has visions of a calm chambray shade. He chose the bright robin's egg blue. I tried to talk him into my shade. When he said the bright blue made him happy how could I deny my sweet boy? Can you tell he loves sports?
We should have given him ESPN as a middle name.
I've taken a couple of naps on his bed. It makes me feel close to him.

Chez Moi

I spent the last few days relaxing at a luxury resort. I love the king size bed.
It's very comfortable.

The only problem is ...no room service.
