Breast Friends

Yesterday I spent the day at the hospital waiting while my best friend had surgery to remove breast cancer. Three of four Ya-ya's have had breast lumps. One is a breast cancer survivor of 9 years, I had two lumps removed both were benign, and now our dear friend begins her battle.

Just a reminder to do your monthly breast self exams.

Friends are like bras...close to your heart and there for support.

Oh, Diane, I'm sorry. I lost a good friend a few years ago to breast cancer. Scares me to death.

You could paint that on a cute little wooden sign and sell it at a craft show.

You are a good friend.

I was thinking about her all day yesterday. Can you keep us posted on how she's doing?

I hope she will be okay. She really does have friends that understand.

Great quote.

Give her my best! (I was going to say breast...quite frankly, she can have that, too!)

She is one in a million!

That is awesome for you and your friends to have such a great support system for each other. There is nothing better than great girlfriends. I bet she was glad you were all there supporting her.....

Thanks for the reminder. I'm due for my first mammo this month. I'll get it, just for you.

Okay, and for me, too.

That quote is great. A few more months and I need my first mammo. There's no way I'm going to miss it.

What a great post! 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, so if you tell 8 women to do regular self exams and get an annual screening, you have potentially saved 1 woman's life.

Good Blog. I'll check in now and then to read more!

I'm inspired to do an exam right now. Best wishes to your friend. I hate cancer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her right now. Please tell her to contact me when it comes time for radiation if she has any questions. Maybe I'll be able to help.
