Shoesday

Lucky magazine is my all time favorite fashion publication. This is because the cover never mentions how to lose 10 lbs in 10 minutes or look 10 years younger in 10 seconds. I'm not embarassed to have my daughter flip through it either. The best feature ever was the shoe of the month...I can't figure out why they would dispense with such a critical feature. Lucky for me they still display plenty of shoes. This article about spring shoe trends caught my eye. Now this is a style that I can work with.

I like the multi-color and multi-texture of this pair. Patent leather, suede and linen with a mix of coral, brown and tan.

My sliver wedges may be tiny slivers but what they lack in height they make up for in style.

Missionary Monday

Another missionary mom blogger came to the rescue last week. Remember how it was Elder Jordan's birthday, well Julie kindly e-mailed me to get the address where my missionary currently resides. She wanted to deliver a birthday treat. Thank heaven for this sweet stalker. She got pictures of his house while she loitered in the neighborhood hoping to run into Elder J. Apparently, the neighborhood watch team is on their toes because a police car showed up. Julie took her cue to leave, but not before she left a cake and card for him with her phone number.

As luck would have it, Elder Jordy actually called Julie that night to thank her, well I hope he remembered to thank her, and give me a message. He said he loves me. I cried when I got Julie's e-mail on June 8th. The next day when we got E. Jordan's e-mail he mentioned that he had not gotten his birthday package or any of the 6 birthday cards we sent. Come on, he's only two states away. I won't find out until Tuesday if he ever got his birthday in a box. Julie saved the day. She has a son on a mission who is coming home in 17 days...but who's counting.

Another blog friend, Robin introduced me to Julie. This blogging network is crazy goodness.

Meet Doris Day

On Wednesday Brynn participated in the Dance of the Decades at school.

Each student was assigned an influential person to report on and portray

from the 1920's-1950's.

They learned dances from each decade as well.

Her dance partner was Al Capone. I guess opposites do attract.

Brynn was totally type cast as Doris Day. Both Doris and Brynn are beautiful and sweet.

Every coach and teacher this girl has ever had says that

Brynn is the sweetest and nicest girl they have ever taught or coached. She looked adorable in her black pencil skirt and ivory cardigan with sparkly buttons.

The pearl bracelet and scarf finished off the outfit.

Fifteen Again

I feel like I'm 15 again.
I've been studying for finals.
I can't wait to drive.
I got some new accessories... I'll be practicing my closed mouth smile.

For thirteen months I've been faithfully wearing my Invisalign trays. In his pursuit of perfection my orthodontist suggested...

braces on the top front teeth for 12 weeks.

Since I've come this far I figured I might as well go for the perfect smile.
I also will be able to enjoy the flat screen TVs that have been installed recently at each chair. I'm sure we funded at least a couple of those.

The difference between 15 and 47 is that...

I don't have to take finals.

I have a nice car and driver.

I have better accessories.

Braces don't hurt after giving birth to three children.

I do wonder how they will look with grey hair.

At the Tony Awards Liza looked like a dr@g Queen imitation of herself. I'm pretty sure she was performing under the influence as well. Her acceptance speech was bizarre.

Shoesday

I have footwear in all the metallics. Silver, gold, bronze, platinum even pewter. This season a new metallic has emerged, rose gold. Handbags and shoes in this beautiful pink tone are appearing on my fashion radar. I adore the braided t-strap and closed back.

Metallics are totally neutral and if you don't own a pair, what are you waiting for?

I gave myself a pedicure because I like my toenails short and the ladies at the nail salon think long toenails are better. Gross. I did a bad job but sometimes I just have to take care of things on my own. I also had a migraine and the thought of the brightly lit salon with strong fumes and the ladies shrill chattering in another language put me over the edge.

Some of his favorite stuff. My boy loves stretchy snakes, pinkie balls and punch balloons. Always has. When he was little he had a bouncy ball collection and there are still marks on our ceiling from all the stretchy animals that have lived there over the years.

Of course I added Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Especially For Youth Music, a new tie and other stuff he requested. I love flat rate boxes. We send him a box every month. They are stuffed to full capacity. This is my way of nurturing him while he is gone.

We will eat a Ding Dong in his honor.
